Teresa,
I have contacted Gephart, KSL, Fox13 and ABC4. I think the more people who send them emails, the more they will listen. I have talked to some of my stores in Texas and they say it is all over their news.

Also, I wouldn't be suprised if the law is changed at the last minute and they give small businesses a break. I just can't imagine what this will do to so many people.

There are a few things I have learned that will help in the short-term. The law is not retroactive and anything manufactured before feb 10 can be sold until supplies run out. So I have been working hard so that I have enough stock for the 1st spring show and hopefully the second. I do have some things that are already tested and can still carry, like Baby Legs.

I haven't talked to any other vendors. I thought I had Heather C. email but I couldn't find it.

I am looking into getting a few of my products tested and will probably move forward in the next couple of weeks with that.
Cotton, linen, and a few other things will probably be exempt from the law so I will still be able to do blankets, crayon rolls, nursing covers, etc. (I will just have to test the snaps, d rings, etc).
Also, I will still sell little necklaces and things that are for teenagers and will be labeled for those older than 12.

If I were you I would post something on your blog so that vendors can hear about it. I think you will also have to decide what you will do as the owner of the booth. Will you allow booths to sell things that aren't lead tested?
("Still, companies shouldn’t expect a crackdown, said Julie Vallese, a spokeswoman for the commission.

'There’s a need for compliance, but it’s fair to say that the toy police will not be descending on all of America on Feb. 11,' Vallese said.")

You might also want to follow Etsy and see how they decide to deal with it. They are a middle man, kind of like you and I am sure they have laywers and experts helping them with their plan of action.

Let me know if I can help or answer questions. I will know by next week where will be best to get things tested if other crafters need that info.

Thanks, Carlie
